On Sunday, Fulbright invited its grantees to the Ballet Folkórico de México held at the Museo de Antropología. This ballet was started by Amalia Hernández in 1952 in hopes of preserving the traditional dances of Mexico. Since its debut over 50 years ago, the ballet has won more than 200 awards in recognition of its artistic merit.
The ballet far surpassed my expectations. I was so taken by the live music, vibrant dancing, and colorful costumes. While pictures can certainly capture color and movement, they cannot capture sound. So, here is a YouTube clip to give you an idea of what the music was like.
Please take a chance to enjoy these pictures of the Ballet Folkórico de México.

Wow ~ how colorful and beautiful! You captured a lot of the action. Stunning pics ~ thanks.
The show looked like it was so much fun to see in person. I can't wait to go home from work and watch the youtube clip that you posted!
